Bollywood Flops: Drishyam 2 has created a buzz in terms of box office earnings. The film, which released last Friday, has managed to collect ₹100 crore at the box office within a week. Ajay Devgan and Tabu’s crime, drama, mystery film is also being liked by the audience.

Apart from Drishyam 2, The Kashmir Files, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Brahmastra have been the only ones to score a century at the box office this year. Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez’s ‘Bachchan Pandey’ had a budget of ₹150 crores but the film did a third of that i.e. 50 crores box office collection. In this way people involved in film production and distribution suffered a loss of about ₹100 crores.

 Part-1 (Release: April 1, 2022)

John Abraham, Rakulpreet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez’s Attack Part-1 was able to collect only 20 percent of its budget at the box office. The film was made with a budget of ₹80 crore and earned only ₹16.13 crore. Film analysts believe that the film became a superflop in the massive wave of SS Rajamouli’s RRR.

Jersey (Release: 22 April 2022)

Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur’s film ‘Jersey’ was a remake of Jersey released in Tamil in the year 2019. The film did a box office collection of only ₹19.68 crores against a budget of ₹100 crores. The makers have suffered a loss of more than ₹ 70 crores from this movie. Two reasons are given for the flop of Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, the first is release with KGF 2 and the second original Jersey film is available for free on YouTube.

Heropanti 2 (Release: 29 April 2022)

In 2014, it was a sequel to Heropanti starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. The film was made with a budget of around ₹90 crores but ended up grossing ₹24.45 crores at the box office. The filmmakers suffered a loss of over ₹60 crore. If reports are to be believed, the audience is fed up with Tiger’s action movies. Many people say that the entire film including the trailer of the film was utter rubbish.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar (Release: May 13, 2022)
The condition of Ranveer Singh’s social comedy-drama film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ was also like an attack film. The film was made with a budget of ₹80 crore. Talking about the box office collection, only ₹15.6 crore was earned, which is not even 20 percent of the budget. Film analysts cited flaws in the trailer including the bad script and poster as the reason for the film being a disaster.

Dhakad (Release: May 20, 2022)

Kangana Ranaut’s action film ‘Dhakad’ flopped badly at the box office. Made on a budget of ₹85 crore, the film had a box office collection of only ₹2.94 crore. Even after selling the OTT rights of Dhakad, it made a loss of around ₹78 crores.

Samrat Prithviraj (Release: June 3, 2022)

‘Samrat Prithviraj’ failed to do wonders at the box office. Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar were the main characters of this film, made in a budget of about ₹ 175 crores. Significantly, this film could not even collect half of its budget and was limited to ₹ 68.05 crores. The audience also made fun of Akshay Kumar’s performance on social media.

Taapsee Pannu was in the lead role in ‘Shabaash Mithu’, based on Mithali Raj, the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. Made on a budget of ₹35 crore, the film did a box office collection of ₹2.23 crore. The film earned only ₹4280 on the eighth day.

Shamshera (Release: July 22, 2022)

It was Ranbir Kapoor’s first action film but proved to be a failure at the box office. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor, the film was made on a budget of ₹150 crore but failed to collect ₹42.48 crore.
Lal Singh Chadha (Release: August 11, 2022)

‘Lal Singh Chadha’ is included in the count of the biggest flops of this year. The Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer film was made on a budget of around ₹180 crores, out of which the film managed to collect only ₹58.73 crores at the box office. If reports are to be believed, Lal Singh Chadha has suffered a loss of around ₹100 crores. According to IMDB ratings, Laal Singh Chaddha has been given an average of 5.5 stars.
